POSTCARD 1 from the ROAD- An Oasis

An Oasis in North London.

Continuing my journey towards recovery on a long and sometimes deserted road, I often feel the need to rest and refresh myself.  I was amazed recently to come across an oasis in the most unlikely of places. I was feeling a little helpless and  unprepared to celebrate my children's forthcoming birthdays.   After all, they were grown now and fully capable of fulfilling all their needs and desires, unlike in childhood when they looked to me with eager expectation.  Now all they ask of me is a reassurance that I will get better.

So imagine my delight when I found that I could share an hour or two with my daughter at a local and affordable spa on my very doortstep. The Beauty Lodge had been carved into the unlikely landscape of Wood Green and offers the luxury of being pampered without the guilt of paying extortionately for it.

Upon our arrival at the venue, I was surprised to make my way to the back garden of an ordinary semi-detached house but within moment of stepping through the doors and  being greeted with a  cheery hello we were offered herb teas beside a soothing waterfall. It was easy to forget that we were only minutes away from the noise and bustle of the High Road.

I spent a luxurious afternoon at the lodge and left refreshed and revived, happy in the knowledge that I had given my daughter a most precious gift - Some quality time with a mother she thought was lost to her. Both our hearts were light and filled with Joy.

So my friends, I can genuinely say, it is worth finding time to stop and refresh yourself at the nearest oasis.

WISH YOU WERE HERE!
