Chapter 18- Declutter Bug

The thing about having time to stop is that you also get more time to look around you.  I have never had the luxury of time before now to really sit and sort  through years of accumulated papers and memorabilia  and now I have the caught the bug, I cannot stop. I must have filled 5 recycling bins full of papers, given away 10 box-fulls to charity and sold numerous excess items via Gumtree.  The latter is an entertaining experience in itself.
It is true what they say, that one man's trash is another man's treasure. However, learning to advertise and make it appealing is another challenge.  I am rather enjoying the experience now. Here is an example:

Absolutely brand new & unused in original plastic wrapper but I have included pictures of the ones I am using so you can see what it looks like and also see the multi position reclining position from an upright chair to a stretched out lie-back position.  Bought 4 but 2 of them are surplus to requirements.

The annoying thing is that people enquire about these and make offers by email as though they are desperate to buy them but then don't follow through.  Weird !  But I must say that the purpose is being achieved.  I am seeing space and potential in my home again.

 

What does this have to do with my recovery, you may ask.  Well quite a lot, actually.  It is making productive use of dead time.  There is just so much lying down & resting that one can do! I am beginning to feel empowered and productive again and looking forward with hope and building-up confidence to return to work again.
