Having taken a slight detour for 4 days in the form of a coach trip to Scotland, I am back on my road to recovery with renewed vigour.
The detour was useful in that it provided a welcome change of scenery as well as a chance to spend uninterrupted time with precious loved ones. The gamble in booking this trip was that none of us knew how we would cope with such a long coach journey and just hoped that it carried more plus than minus points.
Suffice to say, we were all a little relieved when the trip ended leaving us all with a mixed bag of memories and experiences and perhaps some bumps and bruises too.

We were entertained by the occasional lifeline thrown to us by our tour guide who generally underestimated the time it would take us to reach our next destination but he did so with childlike charm and naivety which probably save his skin at the end of day.

Would I do it again? Definitely not by coach! But Scotland has won my heart and I have made date with Edinburgh for next year at the same time and intend to be fit enough to enjoy every moment of the festival and street fun in August 2015.
